How often do you find yourself saying “I don’t know”? How about “I can’t” or I am not sure”? If you are anything like me, you say these phrases without thinking twice about it. On the surface they seem like innocent phrases, but deep down, you and I have been teaching our brains to relinquish responsibility for finding or figuring out the answer to a problem.

Here is what I’d like you to consider:
What if you did know the answer to a question or solution to a problem? Now I am not not talking about taking apart your air conditioning unit and saying “I know the answer…”. Leave the AC to the pros. No, I am talking about seemingly smaller issues such as: I don’t know what to wear, I am not sure where we should go to eat, I don’t know how to phrase this email, I am not sure what to get her for her birthday…
The idea is to allow yourself to figure out the problem because it’s really not about the solution to the problem, it’s about teaching your brain the skill to figure things out.
That’s it. That’s what I would like you to consider. Can you, for a week or a month, say to yourself that you can figure out a problem, that you can try to find a solution, that you can take part in find the answer?
Keep a record of your journey and report back to me what you’ve learned. I promise you one thing: your confidence in making decisions for yourself will increase dramatically. You will learn that you have many of the answers you didn’t think you did just a month ago.

You DO know where you want to eat. You DO know your favorite color. You DO know what you should wear to the baby shower, the dinner, or to work.
Let’s help you figure out the answers to your questions.
You got this, friend!
