When and how to use Positive Affirmations?

Hi friends!

Welcome back to the blog and let’s chat about positive affirmations.

If you are anything like me, you’ve got a long list of affirmations-perhaps for different situations-that you’ve got sitting in a notebook, on a shelf, or in an email. That’s not the best place for them.

So when and how do you use positive affirmations?

When:

Use them daily! Use them when you don’t need them. Use them so they are committed to memory. Make it part of your morning and nightly routine to read your favorite affirmations and write them in your journal. Perhaps even take the time to reflect on what they mean to you and write that down in your journal as well. It’s best to truly live in a space of peace and calm and generations emotions and actions from that space. Positive affirmations help with that. For example:

-I am at peace. I am unshakeable. I breathe in peace and surround myself with calm. My life reflects the calm I feel inside.

If you practice these thoughts daily-write them in your journal-wake up and read them in the morning-maybe make it the background on your phone and computer, your actions will reflect the peace feel inside.

You mindfully get ready for the day. You leave the house at a reasonable time. You drive carefully. You are courteous to others.

(Oh you don’t know! I have children how drive me crazy! There is no peace when it comes to those kids!)

Listen, I know!!! I caught my girls arguing with each other things morning while whispering! Who does that! HAHA Only an 8 year and her 4 year old sister thinks of that! But that’s not all they do. They also have a loud set of lungs on them and can shout you right out the front door. This leads me to the HOW:

How do you use the positive affirmations?

Here is the truth: they are already imprinted on your heart and in your mind. You’ve been practicing them daily. You’ve surrounded yourself with peace and calm. When you are in the middle of breaking up a fight among your children, that’s when you can access the wealth of calm, patience and peace you’ve stored inside.

What we do daily, makes us who we are!

When you practice peace and calm within your OWN body, mind and soul on a daily basis, you are re-created a human who is the epitome of peace and calm. Don’t believe me? Give my suggestions a try for 30 days and come back to tell me how you are doing! I bet you’ll be a changed person.

Let me share with you a few of the Positive Affirmations I teach my coaching clients to fuel their daily actions. I ask them to choose 3 phrases to fuel their week and take action on their mini-goals.

I am starting today. I am capable. My worth is not connected to my productivity. I trust myself. I am at peace. I am ready for Joy in my life.
