Why Productivity Matters

Hi Friends,

Happy Monday! Happy last week of January! Let’s get this day started with a blog post that will help boost your productivity.

WHY Productivity Matters? You may have been inundated with all the ads around planners, resolutions, and new goals this month. I’ve come to realize that it’s a normal part of January. In fact, I got this month started with my Mindset Reset Course + Coaching Program and workshops for women just like me who want to actually achieve their goals this year. One important reason I launched the Mindset Reset Program was to increase my likelihood of actually achieving my goals in 2024. I realized that I was doing the same thing over and over again each year and getting the same results at the end of each year-the definition of insanity according to Albert Einstein. Now let’s talk about productivity and why it matters.

The end goal of all the planner, goal setting workshops, and brand new journals are to increase our productive and teach us to live life intentionally.

Your definition of productivity might differ given your individual life circumstances; however, in general we can all benefit from living an intentional and productive life because of the following reasons:

1. Reduced Stress & Overwhelm

The number one way to reduce/avoid excessive stress brought on by your schedule is actually simple: Schedule your tasks. Complete them. Repeat. I know what you might be thinking: “It’s not that easy, Nilo. I can’t schedule things all the time. Things come up. You don’t know my family. Things get thrown at me all the time. etc.” While I can understand and sympathize with you, as your coach, my job is to show you your mind and allow you to see how the majority of these statements are examples of “mind-drama” (my specialty when it comes to helping women as a life coach). Mind-drama stops you in your tracks. Once you follow through on your scheduled tasks, you feel incredibly productive. This reduces your stress because you won’t be thinking about your long To-Do list and adding more things to it as the week progresses. This stress leads to overwhelm which causes you to freeze and stop working on your To-Do list altogether.

Productivity is important in improving your quality of life in that it reduces your daily stress and the sense of overwhelm that tends to loom around when all you can do is think about your To-Do list getting longer.

2. Better Decision Making Skills

When you are productive on a daily/regular basis, you will find that overwhelm and stress decrease and along with it decrease the mental fog you might be experiencing as a result of the stress. As you build your productivity muscle, you will increase your decision making skills. You will find that you scroll less on your phone (we scroll endlessly because we are overwhelmed and in a state of “Freeze” caused by stress), you don’t over-eat and you make an intentional decision to sleep at a reasonable time among other things such as driving with care etc.

3. Positive impact on your relationship with yourself

Yes, it is true that we like to focus on improving our relationships with others, but how about ourselves? That’s the most important relationship. Following through on your scheduled tasks not only increases your productivity, but also improve your self-image, self-confidence, and your self-esteem. You start an era of a positive self-talk. Gone are the days of shame and blame! No longer will you shame yourself for “wasting” your day and not getting anything done. No longer will you blame all of the world’s problems on yourself because you didn’t get something done in time or perfectly.

You strengthen your relationship with yourself when you focus on productivity. You teach yourself that you can have your own back. You teach yourself one step at a time that you can be kind and compassionate with yourself when you make mistakes and take action from a place of self-love. You learn to take pride in your work. You learn to follow through because you know you will never let yourself down. It’s the best feeling ever. It’s the best reason to learn to be productive. I promise!

Now comes the question of HOW? HOW can you learn to be more productive? I got your back! I’ve got a FREE Resource to teach you all of that in one document. Click on this link to get my FREE Booklet “Get it Done!” as well as two other freebies all in one place.
