Productivity Tip: Pomodoro Technique

Let’s boost your productivity: Blog Series 1 of 10

Hello friends! Welcome back to the blog!

I am so excited to share with you Blog 1 of 10 in this series I am calling “Productivity Boosters”! Let’s get you to use practical tips to boost your productivity-Tips that are proven to work time and time again!

It’s Monday, almos the middle of August, and maybe you’ve got a few tasks you’ve been putting off until the middle of the month. Here is a tip to get you moving and making progress:

Try the Pomodoro Technique to boost your productivity this weekend. Work on one task for 25 minutes and take a 5 minute break. Do this as many times as you need to get the task completed. According to research on this technique, here are the benefits of the Pomodoro Technique:

  1. You’re Structuring your Time-Management. By putting 25 minutes on a timer, you are creating a sense of urgency and structure. This helps you (I know this from personal experience) avoid overwhelm AKA procrastination.
  2. You are creating Clear Goals. For those 25 minutes, you are working on one thing and one thing only. Laundry pilled up on your bed (or chair), take 25 minutes to fold and put them away. Papers, books, notes sitting on your desk? Try this technique to sort them away. CLEAR Goals create BIG RESULTS! Trust me! Try this!
  3. (This is a big one!) AWARENESS!!!! Instead of aimlessly working on “all the things” around the house, you are FULLY aware that you are gathering items to donate to Goodwill. Instead of tackling three things at once, you are FULLY aware that your 25 minutes belong to clearing and cleaning the bathrooms. AWARENESS is KEY when it comes to getting things done!

There are other equally awesome benefits, but for now (and to reduce overwhelm, I am going to leave you with 3!
