Distractions Be Gone!

How to reduce distractions and boost productivity!

Hey friends! Welcome back to the blog!

Let’s talk about how reducing distractions in your life can boost your productivity. I propose that for the remainder of August, we ought to intentionally put into place systems that will boost our productivity. Let’s ask ourselves three key questions to raise internal awareness around distractions and create a simple plan of action:

1. What distracts you on a day to day basis? Sometimes I can lose a lot of time scrolling through Yahoo!, Instagram or TikTok. :-/ What is it for you? Is it TV/Netflix, Social Media, too much sleeping, over drinking or overeating (those can take away hours from our daily life). On paper write it down and give yourself a detailed answer.

2. What can you do on a small scale to reclaim your time? More than anything, it’s your attention you’re reclaiming when you reduce distractions in your life. Even if it’s on a very small scale, what can you do to reduce distractions?

3. What back up plans can you put in place? Come up with 1-3 back up plans to reduce distractions. If you have a plan in place ahead of time, likelihood of follow through is higher. When you do feel the urge to participate in a distraction, pay attention to this urge first, then implement one of your plans you created ahead of time.
