Stop Buffering-Day 1

March is Stop Buffering Month (So we can Stop Procrastinating!)

Hey friends! Welcome to the March Challenge to Stop Buffering!

March is all about breaking free from buffering so you can finally stop procrastinating! Each day this month, I’ll share simple, tangible ways to overcome buffering—whether it’s endless scrolling, snacking, over-researching, or avoiding the tasks that truly matter. Let’s reclaim your time, energy, and focus together! Stay tuned for daily tips, insights, and action steps to help you move forward with confidence. Are you in?

Let’s get started with Day 1!

What is Buffering? How It’s Keeping You Stuck in Procrastination

Have you ever found yourself mindlessly scrolling through social media, watching Netflix, or grabbing a snack—knowing full well that there’s something important you should be doing? That, my friend, is called buffering—and it’s one of the sneakiest ways procrastination keeps you stuck.

What is Buffering?

Buffering is any action we use to distract ourselves from experiencing an uncomfortable emotion. It’s an avoidance mechanism that provides temporary relief but ultimately keeps us from moving forward. Instead of sitting with the discomfort of a challenging task, we reach for quick dopamine hits—social media, snacking, online shopping, excessive researching, or even busy work that makes us feel productive without actually tackling the important stuff.

Why Do We Buffer?

Our brains are wired to seek pleasure and avoid pain. When we perceive a task as overwhelming, boring, or emotionally uncomfortable (like fear of failure, perfectionism, or self-doubt), our brain tricks us into thinking, “Let’s just do something easier first.” This leads to buffering behaviors that keep us from facing the discomfort head-on.

Common reasons we buffer include:

–> Avoiding discomfort – Tasks that feel hard or emotionally draining

–> Fear of failure – Worrying about not doing something perfectly

–> Overwhelm – Not knowing where to start, so we do something easier instead

–> Lack of motivation – Waiting for the ‘right mood’ to begin

–> Habit & autopilot – Buffering becomes an automatic response to stress

How to Recognize If You’re Buffering

Not all breaks or distractions are buffering. The key difference is how you feel afterward:
Rest and recharge – If you take a break and feel refreshed, it was real rest.
Avoidance and guilt – If you end up feeling regretful or still stuck, it was buffering.

Ask yourself:

➡️ Am I avoiding something uncomfortable right now?

➡️ Is this action helping me move forward, or just keeping me busy?

➡️ How will I feel after doing this?

The Cost of Buffering

At first, buffering seems harmless. But over time, it can: ⏳ Steal hours of your day, leaving you feeling unproductive 💭 Create a mental cycle of guilt and frustration 🚧 Block you from making real progress toward your goals

Imagine how much more free time, confidence, and success you’d have if you stopped buffering and started taking action instead.

This March: Break Free from Buffering

This month, we’re diving deep into how to stop buffering and finally overcome procrastination. Every day, I’ll share tangible tips, strategies, and mindset shifts to help you reclaim your time and energy.

🚀 Your Action Step for Today: Start noticing when you buffer. Pay attention to the moments you reach for distractions—what are you avoiding? Awareness is the first step to breaking the cycle.

Here’s the truth: you don’t have to do this alone. If you’ve been stuck in a cycle of buffering and procrastination, struggling with follow-through, or feeling overwhelmed by everything you should be doing, I can help.

I am excited to open 6 coaching spots in March for women who are ready to stop buffering, take action, stop procrastinating, and finally create momentum toward their goals.

Let’s make March the month you stop waiting and start doing. Your future self will thank you! 💛
